Why Play ?
I’m Danny, one of the owners and writers of Fantasy Winners. The goal of this website is to take you, a sports junkie, stat geek, or whoever you may be, and turn you into a winner at Daily Fantasy Sports Betting. The articles on this site are designed to take you from whatever level you are at in Daily Fantasy and show you strategy, math, and heuristics to help you easily make money in this new exciting way to play fantasy. Whether that’s enough to help you make some money on the side for an expensive vacation or to jump start an entire career for yourself is entirely up to you. But one thing is for sure, Daily Fantasy is big, it is growing, and there are massive amounts of money to be made. You’re going to want to position yourself with all the knowledge and skill you need to succeed.
That’s what a lot of people, including myself, ended up wishing we did when the online poker boom came around. From 2003-2006, online texas hold’em had a large influx of recreational players deposit onto online poker websites to try to make some money and have fun. Yet barely any had any idea of what they were doing, and for the ones who had even some sense, the money players were raking in was massive.
There were players making six figures with almost no initial investment and with only a few months of experience. Some of the best players in the world were making millions of dollars. Thousands of people were learning online poker and practically having money handed to them with nearly no risk.
Initially, I wasn’t one of those people. In 2005 I turned 17 years old and asked my father to deposit $50 into an online poker account for me and my twin brother Max, co-owner of Daily Fantasy Winners. We didn’t succeed immediately, but with studying and experience we both were able to advance our poker careers, each ending up making 7 figures in our careers as poker players.
But as time went on, it was not as easy as before. Players got more experienced, discovered new strategies, and government legislation hindered recreational players from depositing money on the websites. What was once a profitable hobby and profession became incredibly difficult, as strategy became a lot more advanced, and inexperienced players were few and far between. In 2011 I ended up quitting poker and moving onto a job at a proprietary trading firm (The best comparison I can make would be an investment bank) where I learned about financial markets and how to take predict futures financial asset prices using statistics.
It wasn’t too long ago that I learned about Daily Fantasy Sports Betting, as some of my poker comrades had began to spend much of their time focusing on Daily Fantasy instead of poker. I was intrigued. As a sports junkie and someone with experience and knowledge of markets and statistics, I knew Daily Fantasy Sports Betting fit perfectly into my skill set.
As I looked around at the best strategy websites and listen to the best players talk about their lineups and strategies, and looked at major Daily Fantasy Sports Betting websites such as DraftKings and FanDuel, I realized something: Daily Fantasy Strategy is still in its infancy. Strategic concepts are being missed, logic is poor, and decision making is basic. Supposed great players are choosing lineups that are statistically provable as gigantic errors in judgment. Strategic advice on forums and strategy websites are often logically incorrect. And the recreational players are throwing lineups together that make it very difficult for them to win. It all seems so familiar, because it looks exactly like online poker did during it’s boom.
And the boom is happening in Daily Fantasy. One thing you will notice when you play Daily Fantasy: it’s fun, exciting, and riveting. When you have a lineup that COULD win, that’s inching closer to thousands or even 100’s of thousands of dollars in winnings, you won’t be able to take your eyes off the scoreboard. That football game on Sunday takes on another dimension of excitement and intellectual intrigue. You watch Mavericks vs Pistons on Thursday night to see if Monta Ellis or Andre Drummond may be worth starting next Wednesday. Sports become much more meaningful, and much more fun to watch.
Fantasy Winners is a Daily Fantasy Sports Betting strategy website that will not just teach you who to pick for Wednesday night NBA or Sunday football, but teach you concepts of Daily Fantasy Strategy:
- How should your strategy change based on the tournament you are playing in?
- How do I look for players who are undervalued?
- How should I form my team?
- What mathematical and statistical ideas do I need to know?
- How do I take advantage of the pricing methods of each website?
These are just a few things you will learn by reading the articles on our website. Our articles may discuss complex strategic ideas, but they will simple, easy to understand, and easy to apply to your Daily Fantasy decision making process. As long as you take advantage of what this website has to offer, you are going to win, and it’s going to be a hell of a lot of fun.
So read up, deposit, and start winning. Good luck with your lineups!
