Ridiculous FanDuel Week 8 Salaries at Each Position
QB – Zach Mettenberger $5,200 – News recently broke that Mettenberger will be the starter for the Titans this week. And guess what, this couldn’t have come at a better time. What’s the Texans’ weakness? Their secondary and linebackers in coverage. What is Metternberger’s biggest strength? Having a good arm and the ability to throw it deep. The Titans are only two-point underdogs at home, and Mettenberger will have all week to prepare for the first team. Plus, $5,200 is the cheapest salary for any starting QB this week. The beauty of new information mid-week. Mettenberger is definitely in play for GPPs.
RB – Ronnie Hillman $7,000 – We can thank the Sunday night game for this price. The Broncos may throw it a lot, but Hillman is clearly the No. 1 back with Montee Ball out. Hillman has looked fantastic the last two weeks totaling 38 carries for 174 yards and 2 TDs to go with 7 catches for 45 yards. Hillman has also came close to scoring on a couple opportunities on screen passes from Manning. Hillman also has a fairly high floor since the Broncos are almost always playing with a lead. On a short week going against a Chargers team that is struggling against the run, this seems like a no-brainer.
WR – James Jones $5,500 – While unintentional, Jones has continued to play the algorithm game perfectly. He did struggle a bit last week, but Jones has had four double-digit fantasy performances in his six outings. This price is simply a joke being a No. 1 WR, usually playing from behind and an improving QB in Derek Carr. Oh, and the Browns’ defense is atrocious.
TE – Jordan Reed $5,200 – You’d think Reed’s price would be updated with him now healthy and clearly as one of the primary targets in the Redskins’ passing game. Nope. Despite 13 catches for 146 yards in the last two weeks, he’s still incredibly cheap. Reed is also the most targeted QB in the last two weeks for Washington. The Cowboys are big favorites, but that’s all the more reason for the Redskins to throw it.
K – Matt Prater $4,500 – The Lions are favored against a terrible defense in the Lions, Prater has one of the best legs in the league and he’s minimum salary? Count me in.
DST – Jets $4,500 – Minimum salary for a defense that is a three-point favorite at home against a team that has a banged-up questionable running game and a turnover-prone QB? You bet.
