NFL Daily Fantasy Week 12: Best Under the Radar Plays at Each Position
You know the drill with this – we like to give our favorite plays at each position that the general public may not be considering heavily. Let’s get to it.
(all salaries via FanDuel)
Colin Kaepernick $7,300 – Kaepernick has been struggling as of late, but this situation sets up well for him to have a great game. The 49ers are -9, they are back in good weather, their offensive line is somewhat improved from the loss of center Daniel Kilgore and Washington’s defense is still struggling. Kaepernick still has tremendous upside with his ability to run, and he won’t be used much.
Rashad Jennings $6,600 – He returned last week against the 49ers with an expected limited outing. Jennings still got 18 touches for 49 yards to go with 4 receptions for 8 yards while Andre Williams only carried the ball twice. It’s clear Jennings is the featured back once again. Even though the Giants are slight underdogs, they are going against a weak Cowboys rush defense at home.
Kenny Stills $5,900 – With Brandin Cooks to the IR, someone has to step up. Stills is definitely the No. 1 candidate. Cooks was seeing approximately 75-to-80 percent of snaps while Stills was getting around 50. We should see Stills get a bump into Cooks’ normal range, and Stills was already on the rise in the weeks leading into this. The Ravens also have one of the worst pass defenses (minus their best CB Jimmy Smith) to go with a strong rush defense. With the Saints at home in prime time, this is a perfect time for Stills to have a huge game.
Delanie Walker $5,500 – Walker got in a full practice and is now listed as probably for Sunday against the Eagles (assuming no setbacks). Walker was a top-five TE in September before running into quarterback issues. Remember tight ends correlate positively to opposing defenses since when a team is trying to make a comeback, the QB is often forced to check down with the defense trying not to give up big plays. Walker is also the Titans’ best red zone target and the sign that he’s practicing means he should be in the game plan for Sunday.
Shayne Graham $4,700 – A lot of people who go cheap with kicker will probably select Brandon McManus (Broncos don’t attempt many FGs and he’s not a great kicker) or Robbie Gould (outdoors in the cold and wind by the water). Cairo Santos will probably get a ton of plays (and rightfully so), but we are looking for someone different. Graham is indoors, the Saints are -4 and are projected to score 27 points.
New England Patriots $5,200 – This is borderline under the radar, but just go with it. The four-most expensive defenses will be used quite a bit between the Colts (vs. Jaguars), Packers (at Vikings), Chiefs (at Raiders) and 49ers (Redskins). The Patriots always are a huge upside defense, they are -7 and the pass-heavy Lions are outdoors in potentially cold, windy and snowy weather.View all posts by Nick Juskewycz
