NBA Daily Fantasy 4/4: DraftKings Great Plays Who Have Questionable Injuries and Other Great Plays to Swap in if Necessary
With 14 games and countless noteworthy injuries, you’ll need to have multiple plans on how to play your best lineup. Let’s face it, there are a lot of daily fantasy players who set their lineup, don’t watch the games and don’t want to even bother with questionable or game-time decision players. This is where you can get an edge. Remember. when you’re on DraftKings, it’s always best to put your West Coast games in the G, F and UTIL slots. That way, you have more flexibility when making changes.
Let’s take a look at some of the potential great plays who are questionable, and let’s also look at potential replacements if they do sit out.
Injury Watch, Dwyane Wade $6,700 – In all honesty, does Wade have the NBA record for most GTDs in a season? However, this time Wade is doubtful with his hamstring and there’s clearly no point in playing him this close to the playoffs. Replacement, Gordon Hayward $7,200 – Anthony Davis is a GTD and Eric Gordon is doubtful for the Pelicans. The Jazz are -4.5 at home and the Pelicans have been awful defending the perimeter with the mounting injuries.
Injury Watch, Avery Bradley $4,100 –Bradley didn’t suit up Wednesday and there isn’t much news surrounding why. He’s listed as questionable for tonight. The Celtics are hosting the 76ers, so this is easily a great play. Replacement, Jarryd Bayless $4,100 – Same price, same team, same position and would be the starter if Bradley sits. Easy enough.
Injury Watch, Anthony Davis $9,400 – Since the Pelicans are out of the playoff race, I’m going to guess Davis sits. He missed the second half against the Nuggets after suffering back spasms. Going against the Jazz is an excellent matchup though seeing as the Jazz are an average frontcourt defensively. Replacement, Al Jefferson $9,300 – You won’t be able to wait on Davis’ status after 7 p.m. ET, but if his status is known, go with Jefferson. We know how dominant he’s been this season. The Magic are average defensively in the paint, but more importantly, the Bobcats are -10 at home and Nikola Vucevic spends the entire time in the paint, which means Jefferson should grab plenty of boards.
Injury Watch, Isaiah Thomas $7,000 – Kind of the same situation here. The Kings are eliminated from postseason play, and there’s no point in playing Thomas. But should you wait it out, you could get a steal for that price with Thomas’ triple-double potential. Sure, it’s unlikely, but he could get you 40-plus FPTS with the way he’s played recently. Replacement, Jeff Teague $6,500 – This game will lock at 7:30 p.m. ET, so you wouldn’t be able to wait until tip off for Thomas. But Teague is phenomenal value going against the Cavs at home with Cleveland giving up the third most FPTS to PGs. Teague had an average game in the first meeting, but absolutely went off in the second contest. Oh, and you can bet he’ll play hard tonight with huge playoff implications on the line for both squads.
Injury Watch, Kyle Lowry $7,500 – Lowry is a GTD against the Pacers. Granted the Pacers are not an ideal matchup, but they are 20th in FPTS allowed to PGs in the last 15 games and have not played well the last month. Toronto is also at home as a one-point favorite. Lowry’s price has also declined with his short-term absence. Replacements, Tyreke Evans $7,600 and Rajon Rondo $7,400 – Evans could easily be going against the Jazz without Davis and Gordon, which means his usage percentage and FGA’s go through the roof. Rondo is against the 76ers. Both of these guys should be in your lineup.
Injury Watch, Dwight Howard $8,900 – Howard is a GTD, although the chances don’t appear likely at this point. It should be noted though that Kendrick Perkins is resting tonight on the second of a b2b. This will help Howard get easier opportunities inside and Perkins has actually played good defense on him in the past. So, if there happens to be word that Howard will play and start early enough, he’s a sneaky good start. Replacement, Joakim Noah $8,700 – At home against the Bucks. Enough said.
