MLB Daily Fantasy Algorithmic Picks for September 16th on FanDuel
- OF – Josh Reddick – $2,400 OAK@CWS (1.25 P/$1,000, 3.01 Point Projection)
Reddick gets some more love tonight coming off a big game. He’s a very good hitter priced too low. Reddick will be LvsR against a young guy who has struggled with control at times. The As have a 3.9 run projection and while another blow up is very unlikely we only really need Reddick to perform.
- SS – Jhonny Peralta – $2,200 STL@MIL (1.24 P/$1,000, 2.73 Point Projection)
Min-priced Jhonny Peralta showed a little life last night in Milwaukee. He will enjoy the same park bump tonight in the clean up spot. The Cards have a 4.5 run projection against Wily Peralta who has not fared well against St. Louis this year.
- C – John Jaso – $2,200 NYY@TB (1.15 P/$1,000, 2.45 Point Projection)
Jaso will be very high owned tonight. Min priced and leading off at a hard to find value position. The park isn’t great and the pitcher is decent but he doesn’t need to do much to reach value. Severino has started to develop some pretty big splits vs lefties.
- 1B – Chris Carter – $2,400 OAK@CWS (1.11 P/$1,000, 2.66 Point Projection)
Carter personifies the Houston order — high power upside with low contact rate. Tonight he faces a pitcher he has had success against with a RvsL match up and 4.7 run projection. Martin Perez has been decent at limiting damage in most of his starts but always seems to be in that position, limiting the damage. Look for Carter and the Astros to blow up the lefty in a hitter friendly environment.
- C – Buster Posey – $3,400 CIN@SF (1.01 P/$1,000, 3.44 Point Projection)
Posey is still under priced after continuing his hot hitting last night. He gets a RvsR match up against a guy with big splits but Posey has been mauling righties this year and Lorenzen has not been good against anyone. The Giants have a 4.3 run projection at home.
- 1B – Paul Goldschmidt – $4,200 SD@ARI (.97 P/$1,000, 4.07 Point Projection)
Goldy faces a pitcher with poor control at home in Arizona. Cashner has walked 9 over the last two games but has had success against Arizona. Either way, Goldy is always a great option because of his speed and power especially since Cashner is a tall guy and if Norris is catching then bump up Goldschmidt’s chances for a stolen base.
- 3B – David Wright – $3,500 MIA@NYM (.90 P/$1,000, 3.16 Point Projection)
Wright will bat second with a RvsL match up and a 4.5 run projection. Wright has exceptional numbers against lefties and the Mets will be looking to push past last night’s drubbing to secure their post season against this weak Marlins team.
- OF – A.J. Pollock- $3,400 WAS@PHI (.91 P/$1,000, 3.11 Point Projection)
Pretty much see Goldschmidt. He’s posted excellent numbers against righties this year, has speed upside and is probably a little under priced with the DBacks projected to score 4.7 runs.
Under the Radar Player
- OF – Aaron Hicks – $3,100 DET@MIN (.90 P/$1,000, 2.79 Point Projection)
Hicks isn’t one of the bigger name available tonight in the outfield. How does, however lead off for a team facing a newly activated pitcher who has struggled this year. Hicks has shown more power from the right side of the plate, where he will start. One Daniel Norris leaves the game Hicks will get the 3rd worst bullpen in the bigs. With some weather concerns most people will probably look elsewhere for OF valueView all posts by Donnie Chell
