MLB Daily Fantasy Algorithmic Picks for September 15th on FanDuel
- 1B – Joe Mauer – $2,400 DET@MIN (1.19 P/$1,000, 2.86 Point Projection)
Mauer’s been playing well recently and has a LvsR match up against a pitcher who gets lit up a lot more often than he performs well. The Twins have a big 5.2 run projection and the splits are definitely in Mauer’s favor.
- SS – Jhonny Peralta – $2,200 STL@MIL (1.19 P/$1,000, 2.62 Point Projection)
Keep an eye on Peralta’s status for the game as he has been out of the line up for a couple days now. It’s been a fairly disappointing second half for Peralta who started off the season at a torrid pace. Tonight however, he is min priced in a hitter friendly park and with a RvsR match up that suits his splits well. The Cards have a 4.5 run projection on the road.
- 1B – Prince Fielder – $2,600 HOU@TEX (1.19 P/$1,000, 3.09 Point Projection)
Prince is super cheap with a LvsR match up at home. The Rangers have a 4.4 run projection and Fielder mashes righties. Collin McHugh has been pretty good against Texas this year but Fielder is a bargain for his potential upside.
- OF – Josh Reddick – $2,400 OAK@CWS (1.15 P/$1,000, 2.76 Point Projection)
Reddick is one of my favorite plays tonight. He’s got a LvsR match up against a home run prone pitcher in the middle of a disappointing season. The big splits are there for Reddick and most of Samardzija’s home runs have been allowed to lefties. He’s cheap and playing well right now.
- C – Buster Posey – $3,500 CIN@SF (1.05 P/$1,000, 3.68 Point Projection)
Posey is WAY under priced tonight with a RvsL match up and a 4.2 run projection against a young lefty who struggles with control. People may be somewhat impressed by Lamb’s showing against Saint Louis but Posey should be chalk tonight for big points potential. Lamb has been hit around in most of his starts this year.
- 1B – Paul Goldschmidt – $4,000 SD@ARI (.99 P/$1,000, 3.96 Point Projection)
Ross does not give up a lot of home runs but playing at home is always a good spot to roster Goldy. The DBacks have a 4.3 run projection and both Ross and Norris struggle against base runners. Goldschmidt is a guy who has been around 5K for most of the season and is a bargain for 4K, especially with the hitter friendly park and potential for SBs.
- OF – Justin Ruggiano – $3,500 COL@LAD (.92 P/$1,000, 3.22 Point Projection)
Ruggiano has been killing it since joining the Dodgers and has monster splits against lefties. His price seems a bit high but his recent performance and more affordable pitching today should make rostering Ruggiano a reasonable play with some solid upside.
- OF – Jayson Werth – $3,400 WAS@PHI (.91 P/$1,000, 3.11 Point Projection)
Werth is coming off a huge game and is still reasonably priced thanks to his injury diminished stats. Don’t expect another two home run performance but he’s got plenty of potential against an absolutely terrible pitcher. The Nats have a 5.2 run projection but that may even be low.
Under the Radar Player
- 3B – Trevor Plouffe – $2,400 DET@MIN (1.09 P/$1,000, 2.60 Point Projection)
Plouffe is super cheap and is the overlooked 3B on the Twins. His numbers lately are excellent and is facing a pitcher who has been bad in a lot of his starts this year. Simon hasn’t has much success against the Twins and the 5.2 run projection means there should be plenty of points to go around.View all posts by Donnie Chell
