MLB Daily Fantasy Algorithmic Picks for July 3rd on FanDuel
- OF – Kole Calhoun
Calhoun and the Angels visit Arlington and are projected to score 4.5 runs on the road. Calhoun has been a consistent presence in the second spot of the Angels order. Facing a hitter friendly right hander tonight Calhoun will have a plus LvsR match up and should see plenty of opportunity to put up points.
- 3B – Pablo Sandoval
The Red Sox are coming off an offensive binge and facing a new call up making his first start of the season. At home, Boston is projected to score 4.7 runs. As long as they didn’t blow their load last night there should be a ton of offense in this one and Sandoval’s first half struggles have made him dirt cheap.
- C – Salvador Perez
Perez and the Royals host the Twins tonight. Perez will get a RvsL match up against Tommy Milone who has one of the lowest K/9 in the bigs. The Royals are the best team at putting the ball in play and Milone should only help them with that. The Royals are projected to score 4.3 runs.
- 1B – David Ortiz
Is Ortiz back? It’s really hard to say but what we do know is he has homered 3 times in the last five games and has a hugely plus LvsR match up against Dan Straily at home tonight. The Sox are projected at 4.7 runs.
- 1B – Joey Votto
Votto is back to batting second tonight against Mike Fiers. It will be LvsR at home and while the Reds are only projected at 3.9 runs Votto is insanely cheap for being one of the best and most consistent hitters in baseball.
- 1B – Jose Abreu
Abreu and the White Sox host Baltimore tonight and are projected to score 3.9 runs against Ubaldo Jimenez. Jimenez has an ERA 2.3 points higher on the road and Abreu’s handedness splits are quite consistent for right and left handed pitchers. He’s an elite caliber guy for a very reasonable price.
- OF – A.J. Pollock
Pollock has back to back multi hit games and gets another very hittable pitcher in Kyle Kendrick tonight. The Dbacks are projected to score 5.2 runs at home against the Rockies atrocious pitching and Pollock will be involved again from the front of the order.
- 1B – Paul Goldschmidt
Goldy is actually quite reasonably priced tonight considering the match up. He’s got the same 5.2 run projection as Pollock and is only $5,200 despite being against the Rockies at home. As if you needed an excuse to play him.
Under the Radar Player
- OF – Ben Revere
Revere will be coming off a day of rest to face Julio Teheran and the Braves. Teheran is trending steeply downward this year and Revere is having an excellent season. He’s reverse splitting against right handed pitching and already has 19 stolen bases. He’s facing a catcher tonight who has only thrown out 18% of base stealers in his career.View all posts by Donnie Chell
