MLB Daily Fantasy Algorithmic Picks for July 23th on DraftKings
- 1B/OF – Ben Paulsen
Paulsen is one cheap way to get exposure to Coors tonight. He’s got a LvsR match up and while the splits aren’t massively in his favor the run projection for the Rockies is, at 5.5.
- OF – Ryan Raburn
If nothing else, Raburn is a lefty specialist. He’s min priced and hitting clean up for the Indians tonight. Of course getting a RvsL against Quintana, Raburn has a lot of upside while he is in the game. The 4 run projection for the Indians is attractive and he will be a big value play tonight though he tends to get pinch hit for regularly once the relievers come out.
- OF – Scott Van Slyke
Van Slyke finds himself in the clean up spot for the Dodgers tonight against Jon Niese and the Mets. His price is the biggest selling point at only $2,400 for a RvsL match up. Van Slyke is one of those guys who can bring in a ton of value for cheap if he goes off.
- 3B – Pablo Sandoval
Sandoval and the Red Sox host the Tigers and are projected to score 5 runs. Sandoval has been a disappointment this season but facing the hapless Justin Verlander should help his cause out. He’s essentially been exclusively a lefty this year at the plate so he definitely has a chance to put up some numbers from the clean up spot.
- OF – Carlos Gonzalez
CarGo is going to be immensely popular tonight with a LvsR match up at home in Coors Field. The Rockies are projected to score 5.5 runs and CarGo is splitting much more heavily against righties than he has in previous years. His ownership should be high but there’s plenty of reason behind that.
- SS – Troy TUlowitzki
Tulo is having what some might consider a down year and yet he is still hitting .313 with 12 home runs and 52 RBI. With the Rockies big run projection and facing a pitcher who certainly prone to blow up outings Tulo remains a top option at short stop. His career numbers against righties are just as good as vs lefties and DeSclafani is not a big splits guy.
- 2B/3B – DJ LeMahieu
Holliday finally exploded after coming off the DL. The match up tonight is stellar against John Danks. Holliday will be RvsL and the Cardinals are projected to score 4.2 runs on the road.
- OF – Jay Bruce
Bruce may not be the hitter Votto is in pedigree but is at least his equal in power. With the same pitcher match up and conditions tonight, Bruce has a major home run upside. Lefties are crushing Colorado’s Eddie Butler to the tune of a .333 average this season.
Under the Radar Player
- OF – Mookie Betts
Betts has been having his struggles in July but he’s still locked in to the lead off spot in Boston. The 5 run projection tonight against Justin Verlander should help the young speedster out quite a bit. He’s got a great stolen base match up to add to his nice pop upside.View all posts by Donnie Chell
