MLB Daily Fantasy Algorithmic Picks for July 22th on FanDuel
- 1B – Mike Morse
Morse will be RvsL against the somewhat inconsistent Robbie Ray. He’s got a little bit of pop and will enjoy a park bump on the road in Chase Field.
- OF – Yoenis Cespedes
Cespedes and the red hot Tigers are projected to score 4.6 runs tonight at home. Cespedes will be in the third slot of the order and has a RvsL match up against Mike Montgomery. Montgomery has a couple gems this year but has come back to earth lately and runs into one of the most dangerous offenses over the last 30 days in Detroit.
- 1B – Eric Hosmer
Hosmer and the Royals are projected to score 4.3 runs against the Pirates at home tonight. Facing Charlie Morton who has been inconsistent, Hosmer will be LvsR . It’s hard to see the Royals offense getting shut down two days in a row especially with the drop in pitcher quality. The splits on both sides of the match up favor Hosmer.
- 3B – Mike Moustakas
Moustakas has very much the same match up as Hosmer. His splits towards dominating lefties are even better than Hosmer’s.
- OF – Jacoby Ellsbury
Ellsbury still seems to be finding his swing after returning from the DL. However, he gets a stellar match up against the bad Kevin Gausman. Ellsbury will be LvsR with a 4.5 run projection at home in New York. He also likes balls low and away where Gausman tends to throw them in the strike zone.
- OF – J.D. Martinez
Martinez may have cooled off a little bit since early July but the power is still there as seen last night. He will be RvsL against Seattle tonight in a game where the Tigers are projected to score 4.6 runs.
- 1B – Mark Teixeira
Tex will be batting from his preferred left side in this game at home in Yankee Stadium. The short right field porch, a bad right hander on the mound and a 4.5 run projection all heavily favor Teixeira for a big night.
Under the Radar Player
- 3B – Martin Prado
Prado is one of the only talented and experienced bats in an anemic Marlin’s line up. Facing the young Robbie Ray should help Prado in his RvsL match up. Chase Field has been hitter friendly and the Marlins will look to Prado to step up.View all posts by Donnie Chell
