MLB Daily Fantasy Algorithmic Picks for July 21th on FanDuel
- OF – Josh Hamilton
Load up the lefty bats against Kyle Kendrick tonight at Coors Field. Hamilton’s struggles since returning from the DL have made him absurdly cheap for a player of his caliber. The Rangers are projected to score 5.5 runs on the road in the hitter friendly confines in Colorado.
- OF – Austin Jackson
Jackson is a bargain at lead off tonight against the absolutely horrible Shane Greene. Greene has been significantly better vs right handed batters this year but is still a must target pitcher. He’s given up 4+ runs in 5 straight starts including 8 home runs . The Mariner’s who are finally seeing some life from the offense are projected at 4.7 runs on the road.
- 1B – James Loney
Loney continues to clean up for the Rays sputtering offense. Tonight he faces a rookie making his first start for the Phillies. Loney will be LvsR and the Rays are projected just below 4 runs on the road. The Phillies starter, Aaron Nola, likes to pound the bottom of the strike zone where Loney has had success hitting. He’s also a min priced clean up hitter which makes his upside huge.
- 1B – Lucas Duda
Duda is min priced tonight facing the Nationals on the road. He will be LvsR against Joe Ross who will be making the 4th start of his career. Ross is a pretty big prospect but Duda is simply too cheap to ignore given his clean up spot.
- SS – Troy Tulowitzki
Tulo vs a lefty in Coors Field. If that’s not enough information then take the 6 run projection for the Rockies add in Tulo’s hot streak and Matt Harrison’s abysmal performance in his first outing in over a year (6 earen in 4 innings against the Diamondbacks.)
- 3B – Adrian Beltre
We had an Adrian Beltre sighting last night in Colorado. The future Hall of Fame third baseman gets to face potentially the worst pitcher in all of baseball in the best hitters park that exists tonight. 5.5 run projection and a sub 4K price makes him have plenty of upside despite his struggles this year.
- 1B – Prince Fielder
Fielder’s numbers against right handed pitching this year are just nuts. He will take his .377 split average against a terrible righty with a park bump. If there is a lock tonight at first base it has to be Fielder.
- 2B – Rougned Odor
Who is Rougned Odor? Well this young lefty has put up a .321 average with 9 RBI and 2 home runs in the month of July. He seems to have cemented himself in the second spot of the Rangers’ order and gets a LvsR match up in Coors Field. His price is definitely a little steep but he is on a role right now.
Under the Radar Player
- 1B – Joe Mauer
What happened to Joe Mauer? The world may never know but he’s hitting .333 in the month of July with a couple homers so things may be looking up. He gets a favorable match up tonight against the sinkerballer Matt Shoemaker. Mauer likes the ball down and that’s about the only place Shoemaker throws it. He will also be LvsR and is so reasonably priced you can be contrarian here and still stack Coors Field.View all posts by Donnie Chell
