MLB Daily Fantasy Algorithmic Picks for July 20th on DraftKings
- OF – Grady Sizemore
Sizemore is a min priced lead off hitter with a 4.2 run projection against the worst team in baseball. He will be LvsR against a very hittable pitcher in David Buchanan (5.39 K/9).
- OF – Ichiro Suzuki
Ichiro has taken over the top spot in the Marlins order. He’s got a favorable LvsR match up against Rubby De La Rosa tonight and enjoys a park bump by playing in Chase Field. Ichiro is certainly not a huge threat anymore in any area at 41 years old but he’s probably the most impressive $2,100 lead off hitter you will ever find from a career standpoint.
- 1B/OF – Ben Paulsen
Paulsen provides some cheap exposure to Coors Field tonight. The Rockies are projected at a monstrous 5.7 runs and Paulsen will be LvsR against the struggling Nick Martinez. Martinez does have reverse splits but with that kind of run projection the pricing algorithm seems to have missed Paulsen despite jacking up the rest of the Rockies.
- 2B/SS – Cesar Hernandez
Hernandez seems to have fallen back to earth after his amazing start to July. However, he is still leading off, is fairly priced and faces a pitcher who has struggled a lot since returning from the DL. He has been better as a right handed batter which he will be against Matt Moore tonight.
- OF – Carlos Gonzalez
Gonzalez is back home in Coors where he thrives. He’s had a very up and down year but always seems to step it up at home. Coming off a couple bad games in San Diego may lower his ownership but he is LvsR with a 5.7 run projection and was hitting absolute lasers in his last few games in Colorado.
- 2B – Robinson Cano
Cano showed a flash of his former self against his former team in New York a couple nights ago. He’s still too inconsistent to trust all the time but has a great match up against Alfredo Simon who has pretty much been serving up batting practice in his last five games. Cano is better vs righties and Simon is horrible against lefties this year.
- 3B – Kyle Seager
Pretty much see Robinson Cano. Seager has bizzarely reverse splitting this season which goes against his career numbers but the match up is still good good LvsR to pass up with a 4.6 run projection on the rod.
- 2B/3B – DJ LeMahieu
A lot of people are turned off by LeMahieu’s lack of power numbers. However, he is playing in Coors tonight and is facing a bad righty with reverse splits. LeMahieu has been very consistent this season, especially against right handed pitching and the run total is so high that he should absolutely be involved.
Under the Radar Player
- OF – John Mayberry
Mayberry is min priced tonight and while he is facing Gio Gonzalez he will enjoy a RvsL match up. Yes, the Mets offense has been pretty poor this year but Mayberry has two home runs in his 22 at bat career against Gonzalez and could be that high upside punt to help you roster a lot of Coors bats tonight.View all posts by Donnie Chell
