MLB Daily Fantasy Algorithmic Picks for July 1st on FanDuel
- OF – Gregory Polanco
Polanco and the Pirates have a favorable match up on the road in Detroit. The Tigers have been inconsistent lately and Alfredo Simon has been the definition of that word. He’s coming off two bad starts and has huge handedness splits. Polanco will get a LvsR match up for the 4.1 run projected Pirates.
- 1B- Ryan Howard
Howard is not having a very good year which has allowed him to slip into the low salary tier. However, you can;t ask for a better match up than Kyle Lohse who has given up at least one home run in seven straight games. Lohse is trending towards the basement and Howard has at least been decent against righties this year.
- OF – Chris Parmelee
Parmelee and the Orioles are projected to score 4.9 runs at home tonight. Honestly, I’m surprised it;s not higher considering how bad Nick Martinez was last time out. Parmelee will have a LvsR match up and is batting fifth. Should see plenty of action.
- OF – Cody Asche
Asche has picked it up a lot in the end of June. He adds another left handed bat to target Kyle Lohse. He doesn’t provide a ton of power but is batting near .400 over his last seven games. The Phillies should see plenty of action and in spite of their questionable offense are projected at 4 runs tonight.
- 1B – Chris Davis
Did you play Davis yesterday? Tonight he has the same LvsR match up, the same high 4.9 run projection and the same ball park. The twist? It’s against a worse pitcher in Nick Martinez. The guy is finally hitting more consistently and the power is still there.
- OF – Yasiel Puig
I’ll admit it, Puig has kind of been a bust since coming back from the DL. It’s hard not to plug him in regularly though when he has match ups against young lefty pitchers like Robbie Ray. Ray has been stellar so far but the blow up potential is there. Vegas certainly thinks so with the Dodgers projected to score 4.5 runs on the road in Chase Field.
- C – Victor Martinez
Martinez keeps on producing. He’s got a pretty tough match up against A.J. Burnett who can be either dealing or getting crushed. The Tigers are projected to score 4.4 runs at home.
- 3B – Kris Bryant
Age meets beauty when Kris Bryant’s smooth swing clashes with Bartolo Colon’s aging fastball. Colon is trending downward as expected of an overweight 42 year old and Bryant, though slumping a bit is still going to get better with time.

- OF – Clint Robinson
Harper is back in the line up tonight but one would think Robinson has done enough with his shot at clean up to keep seeing consistent playing time. Though obviously not Bryce Harper, he adds another solid left handed bat to the middle of the Nats order. Projected to score 4 runs on the road in Atlanta, Young Atlanta pitcher Matt Wisler has had one good start and one bad one but has only struck out two MLB batters so far which does not bode well against the free swinging and powerful Nationals.View all posts by Donnie Chell
