MLB Daily Fantasy Algorithmic Picks for July 10th on FanDuel
- 1B – Lucas Duda
Duda has not been the player we hoped he would be this year. However, this is a guy who hit 30 bombs last year — mostly against right handed pitching. He gets a LvsR match up tonight against the mediocre Chase Anderson. Anderon’s 1.16 WHIP is a bit misleading as he as very inconsistent pitcher. He has given up 7 home runs in his last 3 starts. Duda is bizarrely reverse splitting this year but most of his power numbers remain against right handed pitching.
- C – Derek Norris
Norris is the only catcher batting in the lead off spot. He’s been much better against lefties in his career and the offensively challenged Padres are projected at 4.1 runs on the road amazingly. They get a nice boost from the ballpark switch to Arlington and a very hittable pitcher in Wandy Rodriguez. Norris will be RvsL.
- OF – Shin-Soo Choo
Choo and the Rangers are projected to score 4.9 runs at home against the Padres and Ian Kennedy. He has cooled off since June but still has 11 home runs on the season and bats second ahead of a stacked line up.
- 3B – Adrian Beltre
Was that an Adrian Beltre sighting? This is a guy who hit .324 last year and maybe, just maybe he’s got his swing figured out again after struggling mightily this season. He squared up a couple of balls last night and has a reasonably good match up against the reverse splitting right handed Ian Kennedy.
- Prince Fielder
Fielder joins the other Rangers on this list in that 4.9 run projection. Fielder is hitting right handed pitching at an absurd rate this year.
- OF – Carlos Gonzalez
CarGo is one of those streaky guys who gets white hot or ice cold and is rarely just mediocre. He was has been crushing the ball in three of the last 4 games. He’s facing a pretty decent pitcher in Shelby Miller and there always seem to be weather concerns at Coors but when he gets hot you ride that streak. The Rockies are projected at 4.8 runs.
- 1B – Adrian Gonzalez
Gonzalez has home runs in 4 of his last 6 games. He’s not hitting a whole lot other than that at the moment but faces the young and inconsistent Jimmy Nelson. The Dodgers have a 4 run projection tonight and Gonzalez will be LvsR.
Under the Radar Player
- 2B – Jedd Gyorko
Gyorko slides into the 5th spot tonight against Wandy Rodriguez. The Padres have a nice 4.1 run projection on the road in Arlington and Gyorko has been hitting lefties at a better clip this year. He’s a min priced punt at second base with some upside due to his elevated spot in the order.View all posts by Donnie Chell
