MLB Daily Fantasy Algorithmic Picks for August 3rd on FanDuel
- 1B – Ryan Zimmerman
Zimmerman has not had the best of seasons while being hampered with injury. He’s got a pretty solid match up at home against young and unproven pitcher in Zack Godley. Zimmerman is min priced and batting clean up for a team that is finally getting healthy. The Nationals are projected to score 4.4 runs and Godley is coming off a game where he caught the home run bug.
- OF – Angel Pagan
Pagan’s min price reflects his lack of power and low ceiling in general. He is the lead off hitter for a very good team, however and the match up is great against Michael Foltnewicz. The Giants are projected to score 4.2 runs on the road in Atlanta.
- OF – Brandon Guyer
Guyer is a min priced lead off hitter with a RvsL against Jose Quintana. Quintana’s splits heavily favor Guyer and on a night where there is a Coors game and some expensive pitching you may need to find a couple of these low priced value guys.
- OF – Christian Yelich
Yelich is having a tough time putting together a string of good games. Tonight he gets a relatively easy match up against Bartolo Colon at home. It will be a LvsR match up and Colon seems to either shut teams down or get crushed. Yelich could be part of a cheap stack that will allow you to roster Liriano and another high priced pitcher.
- 1B – Freddie Freeman
Freeman has had a couple of decent games recently and is always a home run threat. He’s too good of a hitter to sleep on forever and his match up LvsR against Matt Cain who is not the pitcher he once was. The Braves may be underdogs at home but Freeman is always capable of great individual performances.
- 1B – Adam Lind
Lind is one of the last pieces remaining of the Brewers batting order. He has fallen off heavily since his great early July. He is a good hitter and relatively cheap considering his LvsR match up against a pitcher who has been very inconsistent with his control all year.
- OF – Carlos Gomez
Gomez is reportedly enjoying his new club in Houston and gets a potentially explosive match up today against Colby Lewis. Houston is projected to score 4.7 runs against one of the most home run prone pitchers in the MLB. Gomez has reverse splits so don’t hesitate to throw him in there against a weak right hander.
- 3B – Kyle Seager
Facing Eddie Butler in Coors Field is about as good a match as you can get for Kyle Seager. The Mariners’ offense has come alive of late and Seager is still needing to get involved. The Mariners are projected to score 5.4 runs as they visit Colorado and the awful pitching staff of the Rockies.
Under the Radar Player
- OF – Seth Smith
Smith is some cheaper exposure to this Coors Field game. Smith gets a LvsR match up against his former team and whether or not you buy into revenge he had plenty of success playing in Denver. He’s very affordable and could be in for a big game.View all posts by Donnie Chell
