MLB Daily Fantasy Algorithmic Picks for August 31st on FanDuel
- 3B – Pablo Sandoval
Sandoval has a lot going for him tonight at minimum salary. He has a LvsR match up at home against a mediocre pitcher fresh off of getting shelled. Sandoval has been disappointing this year but the Sox have him slotted into the second spot in the order and are projected to score 5.1 runs.
- OF – Adonis Garcia
Garcia has 3 homers in the past seven days and now has seven bombs in a little over a month in the big leagues. He’s still minimum salary on FanDuel and is batting 5th against a bad lefty tonight. The Braves have a 4.2 run projection.
- 1B – Justin Bour
Bour makes this list a lot because he provides the potential for a big game for cheap. His low salary in spite of the power upside shows that he’s a boom or bust play but on a night with a Coors Field game you may need a couple of these plays to differentiate. Bour has a LvsR match up against a guy with pretty significant splits. Bour doesn’t need the Marlins to score a ton to provide value.
- 3B – Evan Longoria
Longoria and the Rays have been beating up lefties this year. Tonight they face a very home run prone guy in a hitters ball park. With the park bump in Camden Yards and a RvsL match up, Longoria has plenty of value for 2.4K.
- OF – Mookie Betts
Betts has been playing great ball in August and while his power numbers have decreased, he continues to get on base and score runs. Betts leads off a line up projected to score 5.1 runs and though he faces a righty, Betts has actually posted revers splits. Nova isn’t very good and these Yankees Red Sox games tend to be offensive affairs.
- OF – David Peralta
Peralta vs a righty in Coors Field. Not much else to say here with the 5.2 run projection on the road in Colorado.
- OF – Curtis Granderson
Granderson leads off the resurgent Mets line up tonight as usual. He will face a rookie righty who has been pretty good this year. Vegas however, has the Mets projected to score 4.5 runs and both the pitcher and Granderson have posted absurdly high splits in Granderson’s favor.
- OF – Carlos Beltran
Beltran is finishing up a huge month of August against Boston and their rookie lefty. Beltran will be cleaning up for the Yankees with a 4.4 run projection in Fenway.
Under the Radar Player
- 3B – Todd Frazier
Frazier will be way under the radar tonight with a lot of other talented guys in good match ups going. Frazier will be RvsR against a pitcher who has showed some control issues recently and has been surrendering more home runs. Frazier seems to be coming out of his slump and has 30 homers to his name has has hit righties nearly as well as lefties this year.View all posts by Donnie Chell
