MLB Daily Fantasy Algorithmic Picks for August 25th on FanDuel
- OF – Yasiel Puig
Puig has a great match up and against the rookie lefty John Lamb. Lamb has been hit around quite a bit in both starts and Puig has moved up to the second spot in the order. The Dodgers are projected to score 4.3 runs on the road and will have a nice park bump in Cincinnati.
- C – John Jaso
Jaso has moved down the to clean up spot in the order and while he’s been cold lately he has a nice match up. LvsR against a pitcher who has given up 7 home runs in his last 5 games and 4+ runs in 4 out of 5. Jaso has a good history against Santana.
- OF – Scott Van Slyke
Van Slyke is generally a pretty cheap plug and play option facing a lefty. He’s got a pretty decent roster spot and will be against a weak lefty in a hitters ball park. Van Slyke hasn’t been doing much recently but the Dodgers seem primed for a bit game.
- SS – Jhonny Peralta
Peralta gets a fantastic match up tonight with a park bump in Arizona. The Cardinals are favorites on the road with a 4.2 run projection. Facing Robbie Ray means a RvsL match up versus a pitcher with worse splits at home.
- 3B – David Wright
Wright didn’t appear to have much rust with a fantastic performance in his first game back in four months. Facing a pitcher like Jerome Williams with a 5.1 run projection on the road makes a repeat performance look possible. Williams was absolutely destroyed last time out and Wright has been one of the best hitting third basemen over the past few years. Williams is just as bad vs righties as lefties.
- 1B – Albert Pujols
Pujols and the Angels are projected to score 4.7 runs on the road against a pitcher coming off a complete game shut out. That may seem odd until you consider that the arm is question is Alfredo Simon. Pujols has been significantly better against right handed pitching and not only is Simon coming off his highest pitch total in 10 games but he has given up 4+ runs in 8 of his last 10 games.
- 1B – Jose Abreu
Abreu gets a RvsL match up against a big splits pitcher who has been very hot and cold this year. The White Sox have a 4 run projection at home and Abreu is coming off two straight games with a home run.
- OF – Mike Trout
Mike Trout vs a bad pitcher. This should be about as chalk a match up as you will find tonight. The Angels are projected to score 4.7 runs in Detroit tonight.

- OF – Carlos Gomez
Remember when Gomez was one of the best fantasy players in baseball? Seems like a long time ago considering his performance over the last month. However, his 2.8K price tag makes him incredibly attractive considering the upside we know he is capable of. Many people may be writing Gomez off and though he could be slower on an iffy knee he has a match up that could make the base swiping easier tonight.View all posts by Donnie Chell
