MLB Daily Fantasy Algorithmic Picks for August 25th on DraftKings
- OF – Jason Bourgeois
Bourgeois will lead off tonight with a RvsL match up. Alex Wood hasn’t been great since joining the Dodgers and Cincy is a good hitters park. Bourgeois will have a tough time stealing tonight but as a min salary lead off hitter he doesn’t need a ton of upside to be valuable.
- OF – Grady Sizemore
Sizemore has good numbers against Santana and has been pretty productive over the month of August, at least from a power perspective. Sizemore is very cheap and has both power and speed from the lead off position with a 3.9 run projection.
- OF – Scott Van Slyke
Van Slyke is generally a pretty cheap plug and play option facing a lefty. He’s got a pretty decent roster spot and will be against a weak lefty in a hitters ball park. Van Slyke hasn’t been doing much recently but the Dodgers seem primed for a bit game.
- OF – David Murphy
Murphy’s power leaves something to be desired but he has been about as consistent a hitter as you can hope for from the clean up spot. Murphy will be LvsR with a 4.7 run projection on the road. Batting nearly .300 with a little bit of power upside and good line up spot makes Murphy a solid option for under 3K.
- OF – Yasiel Puig
Puig has a great match up and against the rookie lefty John Lamb. Lamb has been hit around quite a bit in both starts and Puig has moved up to the second spot in the order. The Dodgers are projected to score 4.3 runs on the road and will have a nice park bump in Cincinnati.
- OF – Curtis Granderson
Pick on Jerome Williams seems to be the name of the game tonight. It hurts a bit to pay 4.5K for Granderson but with a 5.1 run projection and Granderson’s power and speed combination may justify it. He will be LvsR and Granderson has been on a tear.
- 3B – David Wright
Wright didn’t appear to have much rust with a fantastic performance in his first game back in four months. Facing a pitcher like Jerome Williams with a 5.1 run projection on the road makes a repeat performance look possible. Williams was absolutely destroyed last time out and Wright has been one of the best hitting third basemen over the past few years. Williams is just as bad vs righties as lefties
- 2B/SS – Wilmer Flores
Flores has been mashing recently and facing Jerome Williams with a big run projection makes it likely he continues. It will be RvsR but Williams has been worse against right handed batters.
Under the Radar Player
- 1B – Victor Martinez
Miguel Cabrera has been hitting at a video game-esque rate since returning from the DL. This should take a lot of the pressure off of Victor Martinez. He is only 3.2K and will be facing one of the highest home run allowed pitchers in the league. Batting between Cabrera and J.D. Martinez should ensure that Victor gets involved in the 4.3 run projected offense.View all posts by Donnie Chell
