MLB Daily Fantasy Algorithmic Picks for August 24th on DraftKings

Low Salary

  • 3B/OF – Adonis Garcia

Garcia has been a pretty solid player despite limited reps. He is very cheap and has some power upside. Tonight Garcia will be RvsL against a pitcher who gets lit up at times. Atlanta isn’t a great hitters park but the Braves are projected to score 4 runs anyway.

  • 3B – Juan Uribe

Uribe is never the first name to mind when considering third basemen. Tonight however, he gets a RvsL match up against a weak lefty and one of the worst teams in the league. Adam Morgan has pretty massive splits and Uribe is great at taking advantage of mistakes.

  • OF – David Peralta

Peralta has been struggling recently and is facing a solid pitcher in Lance Lynn. Peralta has been crushing  right handed pitching this year and recency bias aside, he is very affordable for being a powerful clean up hitter in Chase Field. Lynn has been significantly worse on the road in his career as well.

  • 1B/OF – Michael Cuddyer

With Duda headed to the disabled list Cuddyer will be playing a lot of first base. Tonight he gets an excellent match up RvsL with a 4.4 run projection. Cuddyer is on the back end of his career but can still hit the long ball and is only 3.2K.

High Salary

  • OF – Melky Cabrera

Our algorithm likes the bats against Joe Kelly tonight. Cabrera doesn’t have the highest ceiling but the match up and 4.6 run projection are attractive.

  • 1B – Jose Abreu

Abreu is our number one guy tonight at first base. He’s got a ton of power and has mashed righties this year. He gets a weak one in Joe Kelly today who has been worse against righties as well. The White Sox are projected to score 4.6 runs at home.

  • OF – Andrew McCutchen

The Pirates are projected to score 4.5 runs against Tom Koehler and the Marlins. Even in what is generally considered a pitchers park Vegas really likes the Pittsburgh bats. McCutchen is solid against both righties and lefties.

  • OF – Adam Eaton

With a LvsR match up and a 4.6 run projection at home Eaton has a lot of upside. He’s got decent pop for a lead off guy and all of Eaton’s home runs have come against right handed pitching.

Under the Radar Player

  • C – Yadier Molina

With most people probably looking at Brian McCann tonight and Molina being at a semi awkward price point he may slip through the cracks. He’s got a nice park bump and has been playing very good ball lately. Molina will be RvsL and Robbie Ray has been victimized at home.
