MLB Daily Fantasy Algorithmic Picks for August 1st on DraftKings
- 1B – Shane Peterson
Peterson has a nice jump to the second spot in the Brewers order. At home in hitter friendly Miller Park, the Brew Crew is projected to score 4 runs against Kyle Hendricks. Hendricks seems to perform well only against mediocre offenses and the Brewers definitely can hit the ball in Milwaukee.
- 1B – Adam LaRoche
LaRoche has been pretty awful this year. However, he is coming off a 4-5 game and will be facing the Yankees bullpen tonight. He will start off with a LvsR match up in a game the White Sox are projected to score 4.4 runs. LaRoche is batting 6th now but should still get enough at bats.
- C – Matt Wieters
Wieters remains very cheap at a barren position. He gets a decent match up at home with a 4.4 run projection against a pitcher who has given up his fair share of long balls this year. Wieters has been stepping it up lately and has been a better lefty (facing a righty tonight) at the plate.
- 2B – Scoot Gennett
Gennett continues to lead off for the Brewers at home tonight. With a 4 run projection in Miller Park against a pitcher who has been hit hard in his previous two outings gives Gennett some decent upside. He will be LvsR against Kyle Hendricks
- 3B – Adrian Beltre
Beltre is coming off a big game against San Francisco and is part of a Rangers team projected to score 5 runs at home. Beltre faces a righty today but has hit them just as well over his career.
- 1B – Prince Fielder
Fielder and the Rangers have a 5 run projection at home in Arlington tonight. The line is a bit surprising facing Chris Heston but he has been worse on the road and Fielder will have a plus match up being LvsR.
- OF – Preston Tucker
Tucker seems to have earned his stripes for the Astros this year. Coming off a monster month of July he is slotted into the clean up role in an explosive offense. Houston is projected to score 4.5 runs at home and Tucker will have a LvsR match up against Jeremy Hellickson who has been hit more by lefties this year.
- 1B – Chris Davis
Davis gets another solid match up in Camden Yards against a righty with home run problems. The Orioles are projected to score 4.4 runs against Anibal Sanchez who may not blow up often but is generally pretty hittable.
Under the Radar Player
- 1B – Victor Martinez
Martinez has been struggling but continues to be in the heart of the Tigers order. He will at least start the game batting from the left side where he has seemed more comfortable this season. His $3.2K price is very low for a hitter of Matinez’s caliber, especially against a very mid-tier pitcher.View all posts by Donnie Chell
