MLB Daily Fantasy Algorithmic Picks for August 15th on FanDuel
- C – Jonathan Lucroy
Lucroy’s season has been a disappointing one which has kept his price very low despite consistently batting in the second spot of the Brewers’ order. He’s got a very good match up tonight against Jerome Williams in a game where Milwaukee is projected to score 4.3 runs in hitter friendly Miller Park. Lucroy has posted reverse splits this year so don’t worry about the RvsR match up.
- 1B – Joe Mauer
Mauer is 1.3K cheaper on FanDuel tonight than DraftKings. He’s got a LvsR match up in a game that looks like it might be a total fiasco at pitcher. Mauer has good numbers in a small sample against Josh Tomlin and has been generally hot since the All Star break. The Twins are projected to score 4.6 runs at home
- OF – Josh Reddick
Reddick is way cheap on FanDuel tonight (1.6K more expensive on DK). He’s got a LvsR match up against a very mediocre pitcher in hitter-friendly Camden Yards. Reddick’s back seems to be okay as he has extra base hits in 4 of his last 6 games. He’s had a bit of a home run drought so maybe tonight he will fix that.
- C – Stephen Vogt
Vogt gets the same park bump and LvsR match up as Reddick. He seems to have turned things around since starting August with a horrible stretch of games. Coming off a 3-5 night with a home run Vogt is simply too cheap at min salary. The As are projected to score 4 runs on the road.
- SS – Jose Reyes
Reyes provides some reasonably priced exposure to Coors Field tonight. He hasn’t done a whole lot since joining the Rockies so it’s hard to pay up for him if he’s not stealing bases. Tonight he gets a good match up though as Cashner has been bad against runners and neither of the Padres catchers is very good defensively. The 5.4 run projection should give Reyes plenty of opportunities to score.
- 1B – Adam Lind
Lind has fallen off a bit since his tear in early July. The match up tonight is excellent however, facing Jerome Williams at home. Lind will be LvsR and the Brewers have a solid 4.3 run projection.
- 3B – Mguel Sano
Sano continues to rake from the middle of the Twins line up. He’s got a 4.6 run projection tonight against a guy making his first start of the year. It will be RvsR but Sano seems to be mashing righties better than lefties so far.
- C – Derek Norris
Norris gets a nice park bump in Coors Field tonight as the Padres are projected to score 5.1 runs on the road. He has absolutely destroyed in Coors this season with a .429 average 10 RBI and 12 runs scored in 35 at bats.
Under the Radar Player
- OF – Torii Hunter
Hunter is slumping a bit but has showed off so much more power than previous years he always has some upside. Hunter is cheap and part of an order projected to score 4.6 runs at home. He will probably go overlooked a lot today because of his slump and RvsR match up. Hunter is not a guy with big splits in his career though and if the Twins do go off Hunter should be involved given his decent numbers against Tomlin.View all posts by Donnie Chell
