NBA Daily Fantasy 2/4: Top 5 Best Values
With FanDuel having a $600,000 guaranteed prize pool tournament that is filling up quickly, I’m getting my research done early today. There are 11 games to choose from today, so I’m going to focus on the best of the best values.
John Henson ($5000 FD and DK)
With Zaza Pachulia and Ersan Illyasova out for the Bucks over the past few games, John Henson has moved into the starting lineup. While he hasn’t gotten over 30 minutes since moving into that role, Henson is an extremely productive player. His projected 1.02 fantasy points per minute places him nearly in the top 25 in the league, along side studs like Paul Millsap and Greg Monroe. It’s crazy that this guy hasn’t started every game this year. With Kenyon Martin out today, the Bucks have even less depth at the 4 and 5 positions and we are more likely to see Henson eclipse the 30 minute mark. But it doesn’t really matter, Henson’s production and matchup today make him easily the best fantasy value of the day.
Dion Waiters ($4800 FD, $4500 DK)
Kevin Durant is out today, which mostly means it will be the Russell Westbrook show for Oklahoma City. However, Waiters was the 2nd biggest beneficiary of Durant’s absence, getting 41 minutes against Orlando 2 days ago. Waiters is not all that productive of a player, as he really only scores points and doesn’t fill up the stat sheet. But at the SG position where value is difficult to find, Waiters should be able to hit value. Anthony Morrow should also be solid if Perry Jones misses tonights game.
Luol Deng ($6000 FD, $5000 DK)
With Dwayne Wade out an extended period of time, everyone on the Heat should get a fantasy bump. The often injured Deng is probably the most under the radar beneficiary. Deng got the 2nd most minutes of starters in a loss to Detroit last night, but only managed a little under 20 fantasy points after going 3/9 from the field. I think Deng starts heating up tonight against a great Minnesota matchup which should be one of the closest games of the day. I may not pay up on FanDuel, but his DraftKings salary is extremely appealing.
Jordan Clarkson ($4800 FD and DK)
The Lakers have has been a nearly unplayable fantasy team with Byron Scott unwilling to give his starters solid minutes. Clarkson has been the exception to the rule of late, averaging 38 minutes in his past 3 games. Clarkson is easily the best offensive player on the team, and it’s extremely rare you find someone of that caliber for such a cheap price.
Donatas Motiejunas ($5800 FD, $5600 DK)
Dwight Howard’s absence has been a huge boon for Motiejunas, the Rockets starting PF. The Rockets have been starting Joey Dorsey at Center, but Dorsey never sees the floor after 6-7 minutes in the 1st and 3rd quarters. Instead, Motiejunas has sees a lot of minutes at Center and is getting around 30 minutes a game. I expect that number to go up against a very big Chicago team who have struggled against big men this season. But Motiejunas’ biggest draw has been a huge increase in production from getting minutes at Center as well as playing alongside Dorsey instead of Howard. With high expected minutes and production, Motiejunas could be in for a big game.
