NBA 4/14 Best Picks
We have an incredibly injury riddled Monday, as well as both the Lakers and 76ers playing. That means that there are going to be a ton of good options today. Below are my favorite plays of the day.
Brandon Bass, Kelly Olynyk, Avery Bradley, and possibly the rest of the Celtics starting lineup.
The Celtics are facing the 76ers so everyone who starts is already a great play. On top of the great matchup are tons of injuries on the Celtics as well. Bayless, Sullinger, and Humphries are out. Rondo is questionable. His injury is apparently a “bruised shin.” Clearly, the Celtics are trying to lose here, so my guess is Rondo is not going to play, but we’ll know before hand anyways. If he’s out, Pressey will start and make a great play. Unfortunately on Fanduel you can only start 4 guys on one team. If I’d have to leave someone out, it would probably be Bass or Green, despite both being great plays, Bass has the lowest upside and Green has the worst price. But it’s hard to avoid anyone.
Mike Scott ($4100)
Millsap, Korver, and Carroll are all out for Atlanta. Scott has played both SF and PF for Atlanta, so he should see a lot of playing time, 35+ minutes. Scott has played really well when he’s gotten playing time so at $4100 it would be extremely hard not to start him.
Kevin Durant ($11300)
Durant’s price has come down a bit as he’s been kind of awful for his standards recently. But Durant lit up New Orleans for nearly 50 fantasy points in only 30 minutes just two games ago, and that was with Westbrook in the lineup. Westbrook is out tonight as this is OKC’s 2nd game in just as many nights, so that should bode well for Durant. New Orleans without Anthony Davis have been awful, and should be consider just below Philadelphia and The Lakers in fantasy defense. With so many value plays on board, Durant is an easy play to take up a big chunk of salary.
Austin Rivers ($5000)
Starting PG Brian Roberts has been out for awhile and River’s has been starting in his place, garnering ridiculous numbers, going for 35 and 42 fantasy points in the previous 2 games, getting 40+ minutes in both games. Roberts is questionable, but even if he does return I don’t expect Rivers to lose a lot of playing time. He’s the younger player who has been playing fantastic, so at this point of the season it’s hard to imagine Coach Monty Williams going back to Roberts. Icing on the cake is that Tyreke Evans is questionable, which should mean more minutes and production for Rivers.
There is so much value tonight, have fun putting together a great lineup and beating some of the more clueless players out there.View all posts by Daniel Steinberg
