Expert Consensus NBA 2/7
As usual, I went around to as many expert pick pages as I could and here are the players I found were picked the most.
Practically everyone is picking Young tonight and for very good reason. Philly is playing the Lakers tonight who have reached epic lows against power forwards with Ryan Kelly starting, giving up over 60 fantasy points to Blake Griffin in 3 quarters, giving up a 28/20 game to Tobias Harris of all people, and getting mashed by Kevin Love just to name a few. You also have to like Young against an unskilled but aggressive offensive player like Kelly. Young is a steals machine and should rack up at least 2 against the Lakers tonight.
People really like George tonight, mostly because Lance Stephenson is sitting out, and that should mean George carries most of the offensive load. The matchup against Portland isn’t remarkable, but Portland is a fast paced team so George should get a lot of opportunities on offense. Being at home isn’t too bad either.
Ryan Kelly/Steve Blake/Wesley Johnson
The Lakers are completely decimated by injuries and only dressed 8 players against the Cavaliers on Wednesday. They should not get many more tonight, as Meeks, Young, Bryant, Gasol, and Farmar are out, with Blake and Hill questionable. Really, everyone on the team is in play and should probably be considered in every lineup you have, especially considering they are playing Philly. These three are the best of the bunch, but watch out for Blake as he is a GTD tonight.
Granger should get around 30 minutes or more tonight with Stephenson out, and was at one time the best player on the Pacers, averaging over 25 points a game in 2009. He’s not the player he used to be but his ceiling is quite high for a guy who is close to min salary on most sites.
He’s going up against the one of the worst fantasy defenses against point guards in Cleveland in his home stadium, so there’s not much more you can want on paper. That being said I feel a bit hesitant to roll him out ad nauseum; Wall did okay in the previous two matchups against Cleveland, however Nene and Brad Beal really thrived in those previous 2 games. There’s certainly no risk here though.
He is super cheap on Draftkings so I’d probably call him a must start there. He is facing a Clippers team that has very little ability to defend the SG position as they play a combination of J.J. Redick and Jamal Crawford. There are no injuries on Toronto so it’s purely a matchup play, but there’s little reason to think Derozan won’t thrive this game.
There are a lot of picks I left out here, so don’t be shy about picking a guy I didn’t list. These guys simply showed up on just about everyones picking tonight, so they should be quite solid.
