Expert Consensus 2/3
I went around to over 10 different fantasy basketball experts picks for tonight, and these are the guys I saw the most.
Deron Williams/Paul Pierce
Pretty strong pick here, D-Will is back in the starting lineup and of course has a fantastic Philly matchup. Pierce did very well in their previous matchup, and yeah, they’re facing Philly. Easy starts.
Nick Calathes/Courtney Lee
Mike Conley and Tony Allen are injured, and Calathes and Lee have been starting in their place. Watch out if Allen plays, because if he’s playing, he may be a good play, and one of these guys will not start. Both Lee and Calathes have been awesome with Conley out so these are two of the best starts of the night. If Allen is out, both of these guys are in must play territory.
Another strong injury play, as Shawn Marion is out. Crowder is probably not a good GPP play besides on Draftkings where the min salary is very low, but he’s going to get a lot of minutes in a good matchup against Cleveland. I don’t love Crowder, but 95% chance he hits value.
Griffin draws a start against an uptempo Denver team that gives up a ton of points to big men. I especially like Blake’s matchup against Faried as Griffin is not lengthy and can struggle at times against bigger big men. Faried is a poor mans Griffin, a good athlete without a lot of length who Griffin should fare very well against. More importantly, from a DVP and general matchup stand point, he’s a very strong start.
Not a lot of upside here, but with all the big men injuries New York has he’s going to get a decent amount of fantasy points and has a very plus matchup against Milwaukee. I don’t like the matchup tremendously for Chandler, as Milwaukee gives up one of the worst FG% to big men and Chandler is not an offensive player, but like Crowder, very low chance he doesn’t hit value.
My own pick:
Drummond is on peoples radar tonight but isn’t one of the top picks, but I personally love him against Miami. Drummond is a highly skilled offensive rebounder and has correlated very highly with Offensive Rebounding %, which Miami is the worst in the league at. Offensive rebounding % is a good proxy for how physical a teams big men are, and clearly Miami will easily get overpowered by Drummond on the glass.
Good luck tonight!
