Daily Fantasy NFL Top Plays By Position

It’s Saturday and you’re probably looking for information on building your DFS NFL lineups. Look no further than this article. Below I give my top picks for each position, with detailed explanation.

Quarterback

Andrew Luck (10100 FD, 10000 DK)

This was a tough one for me this week. I didn’t feel right picking Peyton Manning against the porous run defense of the Patriots, especially on a possible windy day in which we’ve seen Manning struggle. I feel like Brady was also a possibility, as the Broncos have a fantastic run defense and the Patriots have some terrible running backs. Ultimately, I settled on Luck, who leads QBs in fantasy points per game this season. Luck has never thrown for more than 23 TDs in a season, but has 22 in just 8 games this season, for a pace of 44. Ultimately, I think Luck cools off a bit, although the AFC South’s soft schedule will certainly help him. But the real key to Luck is his sneaky rushing ability. Luck ran for 377 yards and 5 TDs last year running the ball, which added over 4 fantasy points per game to his stats. With his rushing ability, he has a higher ceiling than Brady and Manning. It certainly doesn’t hurt that the Colts are 3rd in our pass point share projections against a bad Giants defense.

Running Back

Jeremy Hill (5100 FD, 4000 DK)

This is the first time all season we have gotten a starting running back of this quality for almost min salary on FanDuel with this good of a matchup. On a team with a great offensive line  that already is running inclined, Hill should do fantastic stepping in for the injured Giovani Bernard. Of course there’s a chance Hill gets injured and duds, but there’s practically no chance he gets less than 10 fantasy points tomorrow, and with that kind of floor it’s going to be hard to not play him in any lineup, even in GPPs. I like Lynch, McKinnon, and Hillman a lot as well, but none of them give as great of value as Hill.

Wide Reciever

Antonio Brown (9000 FD, 9100 DK)

I think wide receiver is really soft this week, especially with my favorite WR Jordy Nelson on BYE. With that said, Antonio Brown is just a beast and makes up such a large percent of the passing offense in Pittsburgh that he’s been a solid play practically every week this season. He gets a good matchup  against the Ravens, who have given up a solid game to WR1’s each week this season. A lot of people like Dez Bryant this week after Jeremy Maclin torched the Cardinals defense for 170 yards and 2 TDs, but I think the Cowboys are just too committed to the run with Demarco Murray to expect enough pass attempts to head Bryant’s direction.

Tight End

Rob Gronkowski (7900 FD, 7600 DK)

I really like Julius Thomas as well this week, since Demaryius Thomas will be going against Darrelle Revis which should give opportunities to Thomas in the passing game. But Gronkowski is the same price as Julius Thomas on FanDuel, and ultimately Gronk is one of the best fantasy “Wide Receivers” in the league, and has a much higher expectation in yards and receptions. The matchup with the Broncos is favorable for the Patriots passing game, and Gronkowski is the focal point of the offense. I can’t imagine playing anyone else in a cash game lineup.

Defense/Special Teams

Cincinnati Bengals (5600 FD, 3300 DK)

The Bengals defense is not great this year. They lost one of their best defensive players Michael Johnson to free agency and they have failed to generate much of a pass rush. But facing the Jaguars on the road against turnover machine Blake Bortles is just too good to pass up, even with better defenses like the Chiefs, 49ers, and Seahawks with great matchups as well. The Jaguars have consistently have given defenses a plethora of fantasy points and that should continue this week.
