Daily Fantasy MLB Targets for Fanduel 8/6
There are some big tournaments coming up on DraftKings and Fanduel towards the end of the month, so if you want to get into fantasy MLB, now is probably the time. In this article, I’ll list some of my favorite targets tonight based on MLB Park Factors and Ground Ball/Fly Ball matchups (for an explanation of GB/FB, click the link here: https://dailyfantasywinners.com/ground-ball-fly-ball-pitchers-hitters/).
Royals @ Dbacks
Yordano Ventura (GB Pitcher)
Josh Collmenter (FB pitcher)
Aoki and Butler – Aoki is batting lead off, is a lefty, and is going from his pitcher friendly home park to hitter friendly Chase Field. Butler has a great matchup as a ground ball hitter going against Collmenter, one of the most fly ball heavy pitchers in the game. Aoki is a ground ball hitter as well, so look for these players to perform much better than usual.
Red Sox @ Cardinals
Joe Kelly (GB pitcher)
Shelby Miller (Fly ball pitcher)
Players to Avoid:
Kolten Wong – Wong is a ground ball hitter going against a ground ball pitcher. He may be a lefty facing a righty, but the previous factor basically negates this. He also is slightly overpriced.
Right handers on the Red Sox – Fenway is a hitters park, especially for righties, so especially with a right on right matchup tonight away from home you do not want to target the Sox tonight.
Astros @ Phillies
Brad Peacock (FB pitcher)
David Buchanan (Neutral)
Ben Revere – Revere certainly will not get a lot of play tonight on FanDuel or DraftKings, but he’s a very sneaky pick. He’s a ground ball hitter who’s facing a FB pitcher in Peacock. Peacock is also just terrible against Stolen bases, which is where Revere gets most of his Fantasy Points. When you have a player who essentially only needs a single to hit value, it’s hard not to play him.
Cubs @ Rockies
Jake Arrieta (Neutral)
Jordan Lyles (GB)
Luis Valbuena – Valbuena has an absolute dream matchup tonight. He’s a Fly Ball hitter facing a GB pitcher. He’s going to Coors where is HR production will skyrocket. And he’s facing a bad righty. How much better can this get?
Anthony Rizzo – Speaking of Home Runs, Rizzo would probably hit 50 a year if he played in Coors. He should be absolutely godly tonight.View all posts by Max J Steinberg
