Daily Fantasy Football: Top Plays for Thursday Contests

Remember to check out all the great tools we have on Daily Fantasy Winners. Our FD vs DK salary tool is a great way to compare salaries between FanDuel and DraftKings easily, and our Sportsbook Point Projection Tool uses Las Vegas sports betting lines to project points scored in the passing and running game.

Mark Sanchez ($6,600 FanDuel, $5,400 FanDuel)

Sanchez came in for an injured Nick Foles in the 2nd quarter last weekend and filled in nicely, throwing for 200 yards and 2 TDs (2 Ints as well). With a week to prepare, he should perform well again against a terrible Carolina D. Vegas projects the Eagles to score 27 points with Sanchez at the helm, so sports bettors clearly agree with me on this. Honestly, I don’t believe Nick Foles is a good QB, just a mediocre player in a great system, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Sanchez actually performs better than Foles over the next several weeks.

Honorable Mention: Aaron Rodgers

DeMarco Murray ($9,300 on FanDuel, $8,600 on DraftKings)

Tony Romo may come back this weekend, but he’s not going to be 100%. It seems this game more than ever this season the Cowboys will rely heavily on the run game. Murray and that powerful Dallas O-line should be able to handle one of the worst defenses in the league easily. If Murray gets less than 100 yards and a TD, I’d be shocked.

Honorable Mention: Jeremy Hill

Jordy Nelson ($8,500 on FanDuel, $7,600 on DraftKings)

Randall Cobb has moved ahead of Nelson in salary, but I don’t buy it. Nelson is by far the most targeted Packer receiver (78 to Cobbs 55) and he’s had just one poor game this season. Green Bay is projected to score 30 points against Chicago and that will likely come mostly through the air. I think Nelson bounces back huge here, and I’m not using Cobb over him.

Honorable Mention: Antonio Brown

Owen Daniels ($5,400 on FanDuel, $3,300 on DraftKings)

It’s easy to just say Jimmy Graham or Julius Thomas here but for pratical purporses it’s not possible to use all these guys I’ve mentioned and a high salary TE and stay under the cap. Daniels is cheap and has been a larger part of the Ravens offense than you may think. He’s had at least 4 catches in 4 out of 5 games save for a massive blowout vs Tampa Bay that was over by the end of the 1st quarter. I don’t expect Daniels to have a huge game here but he’s the best option for a cheap TE.

Honorable Mention: Jared Cook

Cody Parkey ($5,000)

Parkey has been the most consistent and highest scoring kicker in fantasy this year and at home with a high point projection the Eagles kicker is a lock for at least a couple of field goals.

Cheap Option: Patrick Murray

Baltimore Ravens ($5,300 on FanDuel, $3,200 on DraftKings)

Most players will go the Seahawks D here but I love the Ravens this week. The Titans are starting a rookie QB who’s bound to make mistakes and the Ravens have one of the best pass rushes in the NFL this season. The Ravens are actually projected to allow less points than the Seahawks by Vegas. I especially love the Ravens on DraftKings since the Seahawks are cheaper and therefore will be used much more.

Honorable Mention: Seattle Seahawks
