The $10,000 Challenge

You’re probably like me. You’re someone who has recently discovered Daily Fantasy Sports and are intrigued and excited about the possibilities. All DFS players dream of taking a small investment, a few hundred dollars maybe, and turning it into thousands through consistent play, or maybe hitting a big score. I discovered DFS two years ago when my friend showed me It sounded so interesting to me and I was immediately hooked. However, as a resident of Iowa, I was in one of the few states where fantasy sports for money is illegal. I still followed closely with both basketball and football, and this year, wrote articles about good picks even though I couldn’t use them. Now, having moved to Las Vegas, I’ve been dabbling in both DraftKings and Fanduel NBA, with mediocre results, but I’m excited to see how far I can go playing DFS.

NBA is probably the most profitable of daily fantasy games. This mostly has to do with the sheer number of contests. There are over 200 days worth of games, as opposed to the NFL where there are only about 20 days worth on contests. While NFL is probably easier overall, I’m very intrigued by NBA because of the profitability that comes from being able to wager 200+ days out of the year. So as a challenge to myself and as a motivator to focus intently on NBA, I’ve challeneged myself to turn a $500 bankroll on into a $10,000 bankroll by the end of the NBA season. This blog will be dedicated to updating my performance as my bankroll journies (hopefully) upwards to $10,000, and to write about the ideas that come up a long the way. I hope that this challenge will show you just how profitable betting on Daily Fantasy Sports can be, even for someone like me with little experience.

Check on this blog every few days for updates on my bankroll and lineups, as well as blogs about things I’ve learned. Wish me luck!
