Top Plays at Each Position NBA 2/25
Let’s dive into the best players at each position. There are A TON of great value plays across the board. But I’ll throw in some of the better high-salary guys too.
Aaron Brooks $3,000 – Ty Lawson is out again and Aaron Brooks should get another start at PG. Brooks had an off game against the Sacramento Kings, but he simply missed some open looks and had five turnovers. That shouldn’t happen again and the Portland Trail Blazers give up the second-most FPTS to PGs. This is a no-brainer.
Patrick Beverley $5,000 – Beverley has quietly become more involved in the offense and showing more consistency. He’s put up over 28 FPTS in four of his last five games. You want someone for a 50/50 with small risk? Here’s your guy going against the Sacramento Kings, which give up the ninth-most FPTS to PGs.
Damian Lillard $8,300 – Lillard has put up 44, 43 and 44.5 FPTS in his last three games without LaMarcus Aldridge. With Aaron Brooks starting at PG for the Nuggets, Denver isn’t nearly as good as its 11th-place ranking in FPTS allowed to PGs. Brooks is much worse defensively than Lawson.
Kent Bazemore $3,800 – Bazemore is getting around 30 minutes since joining the Lakers and is already a starter. Yes, the Pacers are a two-touchdown favorite and the Lakers are on the road, but they have very little depth in the backcourt and he should still get good minutes.
Gerald Green $5,800 – Green has a high correlation to his competition and the Minnesota Timberwolves are the third-worst team in FPTS allowed to SGs. He’s also someone that can go off for over 40 FPTS and this game will have a lot of possessions with the over/under set at 212.
Goran Dragic $8,200 – I get Dragic is a PG, but you can play him at SG on DraftKings. For essentially the same reasons as Green, Dragic is a good play too. When the Suns play at a fast pace and aren’t going against teams the San Antonio Spurs or Boston Celtics, Dragic particularly thrives. The Timberwolves get up and down the court.
DeMarre Carroll $4,000 – With Paul Millsap out, Carroll’s usage percentage has gone way up. Understandable the Bulls aren’t a great matchup, but Chicago is only a two-point favorite and $4,000 is way too low for someone who just put up 37 FPTS in 34 minutes against the New York Knicks.
Tobias Harris $6,700 – Harris is more involved on the glass playing at PF without Glen Davis. He also shoots at a higher percentage PF as opposed to SF. The Washington Wizards are a solid defensive team at PF with Nene, but he’s out and Trevor Booker isn’t a good defender. The stars are aligned for a great game from Harris.
Trevor Booker $3,100 – Booker will get the start with Nene out. Booker may not be a good defender, but he’s a great rebounder and had some decent scoring outings when he started earlier in the year. For example, he went for 24 points and 14 rebounds vs. the Atlanta Hawks and 12 points and 12 rebounds vs. the Denver Nuggets. He’s clearly undervalued tonight going against the Orlando Magic.
Thomas Robinson $3,400 – Why Thomas Robinson isn’t starting? Great question. But even so, Robinson is getting more minutes than Dorell Wright and Robinson is more of a power-forward type player too. We know how bad the Nuggets are at points in the paint allowed, but Timofey Mozgov will get the start at center. Still, we’ve seen how effective Robinson can be and Kenneth Faried can’t stop anyone.
Timofey Mozgov $4,200 – Moving Mozgov to the starting five should have been done a long time ago, but I say that from a defensive point of view, not fantasy. At the same time, he gets almost one FPT per minute and has been very aggressive when he’s been in the game. This is a game that will be played at a fast pace and Mozgov should get plenty of boards and buckets. It’s possible Brian Shaw will only play Mozzy 20-25 minutes, but he’s been rewarding effort and that’s something he’s brought consistently. I think he gets around 30, which makes him a very good play.
Joakim Noah $8,700 – Noah had a triple-double vs. the Hawks earlier in the year and Atlanta is really lacking size with all the injuries. Noah has been fantastic over the last couple months and is primed for another great game.
