Sked’s 2/18 NBA Plays

NBA is back and I’m going to keep it simple today. I’m going to list my picks for tonight. We’ve got nine games to choose from. Some players used the All-Star break to return from injury. Some are still resting and healing.

Here are my picks for tonight’s action.

(All salaries via DraftKings)

Randy Foye $5,900 – Ty Lawson is still out and Andre Miller still hasn’t fully made up with the Nuggets staff. With the trade deadline approaching, Denver will likely make a move in shipping Miller for another PG. Until that happens, Foye starts at PG. The Nuggets have been turning it over just under 20 times per game in the last seven games. But more importantly, Foye needed the All-Star break to rest his hamstring and ankle. If the Nuggets are in their matchup vs. the Suns, Foye will get 40-plus minutes. The game is at Denver and Phoenix is -2 with an over/under of 214. Plus with Foye’s weaker last couple games and other games to choose from, Foye won’t get a ton of plays.

Bradley Beal $6,600 – SG is Toronto’s weakest position defensively. Beal is averaging 39.75 FPTS in the last three games. He also took 24 FGA in each of the last two games. He’s also contributing more in the rebounds and assists departments.

Gerald Green $5,400 – Green does have somewhat high variance, but he has a high correlation to his opponent. Look for Wilson Chandler to guard Green, which Green should have an advantage in with his versatility. Green went over 40 FPTS vs. the 76ers and Heat (no Wade). He also went over 30 FPTS vs the Warriors and the Bucks. With a lot of possessions expected tonight, Green should easily exceed his salary.

Tristan Thompson  $6,100 – This might seem like a recent biased pick, but it isn’t. Thompson takes a much bigger role offensively on the glass and on offense with Varejao out. Thompson also correlates well to his competition. The 76ers are one of the worst defensive teams, and he should get another 30-35 minute performance for over 30 FPTS.

Nikola Vucevic $7,300 – Vucevic is finally playing his usual 35-plus minutes. He’s dominated in his last two games against two great frontcourts in the Grizzlies and Pacers with 35 and 43.75 FPTS respectively. Tonight, he goes up against a very banged up frontcourt in the Bucks. Plus, with all the trade rumors surround the Bucks right now, I don’t expect them to give much of an effort tonight.

Jamal Crawford $6,600 Regardless of the opponent and that Chris Paul is back, as long as Crawford is starting and gets his minutes, he’s producing. Yes, it’s that simple.

Amar’e Stoudemire $4,200 – With Andrea Bargnani and Kenyon Martin still out, Stoudemire is getting solid minutes (at least over 20). He’s averaging over 26 FPTS per game since his minutes are back up. I’ll take that at $4,200.

Kyle Lowry $8,000 – Lowry continues to dominate anr run the show even with DeMar DeRozan back. He’s posted over 45 FPTS in six of his last 10 games. PG is one of the worst defensive position for the Wizards.
