NBA Value Plays Dec 9th
Several injuries hitting teams throughout the NBA and a surprising early season trade means great value for your fantasy teams today. Unlike most days where value plays can be risky, today there are several players that are absolute sure-fire bets and without them you’ll surely find yourself at the bottom of those daily tournaments. Here are the plays:
Tony Wroten PHI– You’ve probably played Wroten the last few days (if you didn’t, you should probably quit playing daily fantasy forever) and since you did, you know he’s been doing fantastically in MCW’s absence and filling up the stat sheet. I’m slightly worried at his matchup with the Clippers because it could be a blowout, but even in those games Wroten has been playing in the 4th quarter and Philly is at home which means they won’t take the starters out. His salary is still low on most sites which makes him a must play.
Isaiah Thomas SAC – Did I say must play? Thomas is absolutely a must play tonight over anyone in basketball. Sacramento just traded Grevis Vazquez away which means Thomas is now the starting PG and has no one to limit his minutes. This is a player who has been a mid tier PG with getting less than 30 minutes a game. Tonight he’ll get close to 40. His averages per 36 minutes this year are 23/3/6/2, which is over 40 fantasy points a game on most sites.. And to boot, he has a good matchup a fast paced Dallas team. He’ll be cheap on all sites and should be your first priority in your lineup.
Trevor Booker WAS- Booker probably won’t be played on a lot of fantasy teams tonight because he seems like a risk. To most, it’s unclear whether Vesely, Singleton, or Booker will get the majority of the minutes. However, as a long time Wizards fan I have a great feel for what Washington will do here and Booker will get the start and a good chunk of minutes. He has a favorable matchup with Denver who allow a lot of rebounds and is actually the best rebounder on Washington. I expect a 12/10/1 line with the potential for 30+ fantasy points.
The LA Clippers – You really can’t go wrong here with any Clipper this game. Philadelphia is an atrocious fantasy D and doesn’t defend any position particularly well. I particularly like Jordan Crawford, who comes off the bench and will possibly get extra minutes in the 2nd and 4th quarters if LA is ahead big.
Good luck tonight.View all posts by Max J Steinberg
