NBA Daily Fantasy 1/13: Top Plays at Each Position
PG – Darren Collison $7,200 – The Mavericks are now giving up the second-most FPTS to PGs. Yes, Rajon Rondo is contributing to this and that Dallas plays at a fast pace. The Kings are slight underdogs, but they are at home and projected to score 104.5 points. Collison is usually a safe play, but he always has legit upside how much the ball is in his hands.
SG – Eric Bledsoe $8,500 – As we all know by now, Bledsoe plays mostly PG despite being listed at SG. While we are waiting on a decision from LeBron James for tonight, the Suns are now 5-point favorites and the line is moving in the Suns’ favor. But even if LeBron does play, he won’t be taking on Bledsoe. That will likely belong to Kyrie Irving or J.R. Smith, and neither are strong defenders, especially Irving. The Suns are at home and projected to score 108 points.
SF – Austin Daye $4,200 – Don’t lock this pick in, but if the circumstances are correct, Daye is the play of the day (hahahahaha sorry). Daye got the start in the Spurs’ last game for the Timberwolves and racked up an impressive 36.5 FPTS in 36 minutes. This is obviously insane value. It’s important to know that not only was Kawhi Leonard out, so was Manu Ginobili and Marco Belinelli. Leonard is still out, but Ginobili is probable and Belinelli is questionable. It’s hard imagining that the Spurs would start Tony Parker, Danny Green and Manu Ginobili given the Wizards’ height on the wings. So, if Daye does get the start, I have no problem using him, even if Ginobili is back. If Belinelli is back, or Daye doesn’t start. then pass on him.
PF – Paul Millsap $8,000 – The 76ers give up the sixth most FPTS to PFs. Millsap has had a few slower nights recently, but that’s due to tough matchups and blowouts. He also typically strongly correlates to FPTS by position, which obviously fits for tonight.
C – Timofey Mozgov $4,600 – Mozgov’s first two performances with the Cavs have resulted in 20.1 and 32.4 FPTS. Even if LeBron returns, I don’t expect this to hurt Mozgov much. In fact, it might help him with the increase in offensive production overall. Mozgov is a small upgrade from Anderson Varejao and is more like a $5,500-$6,000 player.
