Must-Plays, Values, and Sleepers DFS NBA 3/30
Make sure to check out DraftKings big end of the year tournaments tonight. Especially the $100 NBA Post Up, which has a $200,000 prizepool and will award $40,000 for 1st. Tonight will be one of your last chances to win big in daily fantasy NBA before the season ends. And if you still haven’t tried DraftKings, they’re offering a 100% deposit bonus up to $600 to anyone who clicks through this link. Now is a great time to get into DFS NBA.
I’m a big fan of all of the free tools we offer here at DFW, and one of my favorite ones to use before evaluating the plays of each night is the FD vs DK salary tool. The tool is a large table of every player playing that night and the difference in his salary between the major sites. The True DIFF stat takes into account differences in scoring systems. Player price is such an important factor when picking your lineups, and is way too often overlooked, so I love having this tool at my disposal. Below is a list of players who have a great price, and are also viable considering other factors.
Great FanDuel Prices
Ersan Ilyasova $5,900 (-$1,033 True DIFF)
Jeff Green $5,000
Grevis Vasquez $4,000
Demar Derozan $7,500
Josh Smith $6,000
Marcus Morris $5,800
Trevor Ariza $6,200
Great DraftKings Prices
Isaiah Thomas $5,800 ($1,307 True DIFF)
Evan Turner $5,700 ($1,097 True DIFF)
Mo Williams $6,000 ($1,097 True DIFF)
Paul Millsap $7,300
Cody Zeller $3,500
Jordan Clarkson $5,600
Markieff Morris $6,400
And now, my favorite plays.
Josh Smith ($6,000 on FanDuel, $6,500 on DraftKings)
With every big imaginable out for Houston, Smith is going to play almost the entire game and should get some time at Center. He’s already been ridiculous in his past few games with Motiejunas and T. Jones out, and tonight should be no exception against Toronto. Keep in mind as well that Smith is listed at PF on FanDuel, but a SF on DraftKings, so his price is actually exceptional on both sites.
Trevor Ariza ($6,200)
Ariza may be overlooked tonight, but he should see time at the 4 with Houston so thin in the frontcourt. His price on FanDuel is fantastic, and his minutes have been trending upwards, averaging 40 in his last 2 games. I expect Ariza’s rebounding production to jump in this game as well. At the same price as Josh Smith on DraftKings, he’s a bold fade option as he will certainly be low owned.
Grevis Vasquez ($4,000) and Demar Derozan ($7,500)
Both have fantastic FanDuel prices, and their matchup with Houston is much better with Patrick Beverley and Dwight Howard off the floor. Both are great cash game plays with high floors.
Jordan Clarkson ($5,600)
Watch for Jeremy Lin’s status for tonight’s game. If Lin is out again, Clarkson’s price is absurd against the 76ers. He played 36 minutes in the Lakers last game with Lin out, and had a line of 18/6/7, plenty of production for his price. Don’t sleep on Wes Johnson as well, he’s well priced on both sites and he saw his USG go up in Lin’s absence.
Min priced sleepers
Courtney Lee ($3,500 on FanDuel, $3,200 on DraftKings)
With Tony Allen out in his last game, Courtney Lee actually saw his minutes jump up to 35. He doesn’t have a big role in this offense, but as a starter in a great matchup with those minutes his price should be several notches higher. Saving money at SG to spend at other positions, especially on DraftKings, is a great strategy.
Cody Zeller ($3,500 on DraftKings)
Most daily fantasy players won’t notice that Zeller is back tonight, but I think he’s a fantastic sleeper especially on DraftKings. Coming off a shoulder injury, his conditioning should be fine and with Al Jefferson really banged up I think he produces well. His fantasy points per 36 is around 27, and I expect 30+ minutes from Zeller tonight especially with MKG out. The matchup is great as well against the Celtics.
Lastly, with many great values tonight, it’s important to know who are the best high salary options. Here’s how I rank the high salary players (in terms of points per $) on each site.
1) Rudy Gobert
2) James Harden
3) Lamarcus Aldridge
4) Eric Bledsoe
