Best DraftKings value plays 12/20
It’s a smaller set of Friday games, but with several game-time decisions and new injuries to factor in, there are plenty of great plays. Here are the key guys to consider:
Jarrett Jack $4,900 – Kyrie Irving and Dion Waiters are both game-time decisions tonight. Even if Irving is the only one to miss tonight (illness), Jack is the only true point guard remaining and should get a lot of playing time. Even with them in the lineup, he’s scored 26.75 and 27.75 FPTS the last two games. He contributes with points, assists and rebounds.
Nick Young $5,200 – Steve Nash, Steve Blake, Jordan Farmar and now Kobe Bryant are all out in the backcourt. Mike D’Antoni said Young will see some action at point guard tonight. He will be doing almost everything in the backcourt against a Timberwolves team that is 26th in scoring defense. This game also has the highest over/under of 210.
Wilson Chandler $5,700 – Ty Lawson is a gametime decision and Jordan Hamilton is suspended tonight for his apparent punch against the Knicks. Danilo Gallinari is still sidelined. Granted the Nuggets could play a lot of different lineups and Evan Fournier could get increased minutes, Chandler will get extended playing time. He’s also scored in double digits the last five games.
Brook Lopez $6,300 – The 76ers have by far the worst defense in the NBA. They also easily run the most possessions at 105.2 per game. Kevin Garnett has the night off for rest. Lopez put up 30.75 FPTS in his first game back from his ankle injury against the Wizards on Wednesday. He’ll certainly do better than that given the circumstances and is worth more than $6,300 regardless.
John Henson $6,500 – Has scored over 40 FPTS the last three games and is becoming a more reliable fantasy option. The Cavaliers are an average defensive team. He’s the primary player in Milwaukee’s frontcourt.
Bonus – Kevin Love and DeMarcus Cousins are the best fantasy options as top-tier players. Love is going against one of the worst frontcourt defenses in the Los Angeles Lakers and are also ranked 28th in rebounding. Love has scored over 50 FPTS in each of the last six games. Cousins is going against the 29th-ranked rebounding team in the Miami Heat. Cousins has scored over 42 FPTS in seven of the last eight games, but has scored over 64 in two of those and has as high of a ceiling as any player in the NBA.View all posts by Nick Juskewycz
