5 Bold Predictions for NFL Daily Fantasy Week 16
Jimmy Graham will have his best FPTS outing of the season. Keep in mind Jimmy went off against the Cleveland Browns in Week 2 for 10 catches, 118 yards and two TDs. I am expecting those kind of numbers against the Falcons. Jimmy has been banged up a bit this year, but he’s finally as healthy as he was to start the year. This is a monstrous game for both teams in a battle for the NFC South, and it’s always a shootout between these two squads.
Cam Newton, Johnny Manziel and Case Keenum will have outstanding games. Cam has been practicing this week, the Browns defense is banged up and Cam was actually playing great football just before the car crash. Don’t expect the FPTS he put up against the Saints, but he should definitely go over 20. Meanwhile, Manziel won’t play poorly again. Johnny was playing against one of the best pass defenses, his arm strength struggled in the cold winds and his OL was pathetic. Now that he has a game under his belt, he’s against a weak Carolina defense and he’ll be in calmer weather (what he’s used to), I expect 20 FPTS out of him. As for Keenum (assuming he starts), this guy can whip 40-50 pass attempts easily. He’s done it his entire life. The Ravens have the best rush defense and the worst pass defense. The matchup fits.
The Cardinals DST will be much better than you expect. With plenty of DSTs to choose from this week, the Cardinals won’t get used much. They are +7.5, but they are at home, the Seahawks are beat up on the OL and the Cardinals DST is on fire. They posted 10 FPTS in Seattle for the previous matchup and have been in double digit FPTS for six of the last seven weeks (Cowboys, Rams twice, Lions, Seahawks. Falcons, Chiefs). The Cardinals have one of the best rush defenses, and the pass defense is now playing very well like it did last season. They also have a solid special teams edge against Seattle.
Odell Beckham Jr will be a huge bust. Since Beckham has made full-time status, he’s posted at least 12.3 FPTS. Beckham won’t hit that mark this week. The Rams DST will eat Eli Manning alive with their strong front-four and front-seven. The Rams’ pass defense has also been improving, so their FPTS allowed statistic is misleading from earlier in the year.
Matt Asiata and Steven Jackson will have more FPTS than Marshawn Lynch and Arian Foster. Just awful matchups for Lycnh and Foster as I stated earlier. The Dolphins and Saints rush defenses have been atrocious, particularly in the last month. Despite the Vikings and Falcons as 6-point underdogs, look for both of the cheaper RBs to get around 15 FPTS and outscore the top dogs.View all posts by Nick Juskewycz
