3/21 NBA Daily Fantasy Matchup Analysis: Nuggets at Mavericks, Spurs at Kings

Let’s dive into two specific matchups for tonight’s NBA action – Denver at Dallas and San Antonio at Sacramento. Both of these games should be in the 100s and provide some great plays.

Denver at Dallas -8.5 O/U 220

Previous Matchups

Nov. 23 – Denver 102, Dallas 100

Nov. 25 – Denver 110, Dallas 96

March 5 – Denver 115, Dallas 110

Best players from these games

Kenneth Faried – 2 double-doubles and 16 points with 8 rebounds in the other.

J.J. Hickson – 2 great games, 1 poor outing.

Ty Lawson – Fairly standing good games. Nothing outstanding for his expectations.

Dirk Nowitzki – Has flat out dominated scoring the ball. Denver typically struggles against PFs. Dirk is a horrendous matchup for Denver. Hickson, Faried nor Chandler can defend him inside. Brian Shaw has yet to put Timofey Mozgov on him, but he probably won’t since he can’t guard on the perimeter.

Monta Ellis – Averaged over 20 points. Had one outstanding game while the other two were decent.

Tonight’s best plays

Dirk Nowitzki $7,200 – See above. Plus, the Mavericks are -8.5 favorites despite being 0-3 against the Nuggets. Vegas wants you to take Denver. Dallas has a big game and Dirk leads the way.

Shawn Marion $5,300 – Marion’s minutes and workload has increased in the last few games. He put up 41.75 FPTS vs. the Timberwolves and 30.5 at the Thunder. While I didn’t list Marion above, he did have one double-double and another game with 15 points and 6 rebounds. There is some risk here, but Marion makes a great GPP play at his price.

Kenneth Faried $7,400 – Why fix something if it isn’t broken? The Manimal is on fire and his previous matchups have been great too. Concerned about only 8 FGA last game? Lawson was out and they have great chemistry. Look for Lawson to get him more touches tonight.

San Antonio -8 at Sacramento O/U 208

Previous Matchups

Dec. 29 – San Antonio 112, Sacramento 104

Feb. 1 – San Antonio 95, Sacramento 93

Best players from these games

DeMarcus Cousins – Only played in the first contest, which is partially why the other score was so low. He dominated with 29-14.

Isaiah Thomas – Crushed in both games. San Antonio’s weakest position in FPTS allowed is PG.

Rudy Gay – Both awesome games. Contributed well in every statistical category. Leonard played in only one game.

Tim Duncan – Easily got double-doubles in both games.

Tony Parker – Two solid games, but nothing to get too excited about. Parker has always had somewhat of a limited ceiling.

Manu Ginobili – Played in only one game and went off for 28 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals.

Tonight’s best plays

Tim Duncan $7,700 – As long as he gets the minutes, he’s a fantastic play. Unless there’s a blowout, there’s no reason why he shouldn’t.

Isaiah Thomas $7,800 – I’m a little concerned he’ll be overplayed after his triple-double, but he’s the best play on Sacramento. With Leonard healthy guarding Gay and Cousins going against San Antonio’s frontcourt, there’s a greater chance they could bust in relation to their salaries. Thomas is on a crazy hot streak and correlates well to DVP. Like mentioned before, the Spurs weakest position in FPTS allowed is PG and it’s 18th in the league.
